“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”
– Deuteronomy 33:27
Thank you for considering Trinity as host for a memorial service for your loved one. We hope to care for and support you, your family members, and friends by providing an honorable place for a celebration of life. The resurrection of Jesus Christ lies at the center of our belief and shapes our understanding of sorrow and death. We offer ourselves as a community of faith to surround you with faith, hope and love.
Making arrangements for a memorial service may be difficult. However, we wish to provide you the best information in order to design the service as a witness to the resurrection and a celebration of life.
Who: When death occurs, inform the pastor by contacting the church office at 907-345-4823 or email@example.com. In turn, they will contact the deacon who oversees memorial services. The pastor and deacon will meet with you to provide consolation and to assist you in making arrangements for the service.
When: In consultation with the pastor, the memorial service will be reserved on the church calendar. Ceremonies and rites of fraternal, civic, or military organizations, if any, should occur at some other time and place.
What: Most services include appropriate music, scripture readings, words of remembrance from family or friends, a message from the pastor, and prayers. Depending on your preferences, the body or ashes of the deceased may or may not be present. A committal service may follow or precede this service, as preferred. When the body is present, the coffin should be closed before the service begins.
Where: Services are usually held in the worship center. Trinity will gladly provide parking attendants, ushers and greeters, if needed. A special room with refreshments will be available for you and other family members prior to the beginning of the service. The lobby and/or Fellowship Hall are available for a reception upon request. Tables for photos, guest book, and other objects are also available for use.
