Nursery Caregiver - Open Position

About the Job:

Trinity Presbyterian Church is seeking a loving, nurturing and dedicated adult to provide nursery care at the church during Sunday morning services. We are a small church located in South Anchorage. Our nursery typically has between 1 and 5 children on any given Sunday ranging in ages from birth to 4-years old. TPC will provide an additional nursery volunteer each week to support the Nursery Caregiver.

The Nursery Caregiver will be expected to open the nursery before worship, and help children and families check-in as they arrive (typically between 10:15-10:30). The caregiver will read the children a Bible story or book during nursery care, and will lead them in a prayer before snack time. Our church services usually run for 1 hour, with nursery care ending around 11:30. After all children are picked up, the nursery coordinator will tidy up the nursery and close up the nursery.

Duty Hours: Sunday Mornings from 10:00am – Noon; Substitutes available for weekends when nursery coordinator needs to take off.

Opportunities for additional hours may be available for special services and events as needed. (Nursery Caregiver is not required to work at these times, but will be given the choice of accepting the additional hours.)

Compensation:  $100 per Sunday ($50 per hour)

Duties include:

-          Opening the nursery on Sunday mornings at 10:00am

-          Welcoming children and families to the nursery

-          Working cooperatively with volunteer adults and teens to supervise infants and toddlers

-          Remaining in the nursery until all children have been retrieved by parents and the nursery is tidy (all children should be picked up by noon)

-          Cleaning toys regularly

-          Working cooperatively with Pastor and volunteer coordinator; following through with policies and procedures

-          Keeping up-to-date records of nursery attendance, emergency contacts, and any allergies or medical issues

Preference will be given to candidates who hold up-to-date CPR & First Aid certification and previous childcare experience. All candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.

Nursery Caregiver will report to the Pastor and/or Children’s Ministry Elder.
